September 1, 2005. The Festival do Rio, Latin America's largest
film festival and gathering of industry executives, has selected
La Sierra to screen in this year's edition of the festival, which

June 2, 2005. La Sierra will be screened three times at the film
society of Lincoln Center in New York City, once as part of the

May 23, 2005. La Sierra has been officially selected for the Seattle
International Film Festival, a world class event recognized as

April 19, 2005. A feature article in today's edition of The
New York Times follows LA SIERRA directors Scott Dalton and
Margarita Martinez as they returned to La Sierra to show the film

April 5, 2005. HOT DOCS has invited LA SIERRA directors Scott
Dalton and Margarita Martinez to sit on a panel discussion at
the upcoming HOT DOCS Canadian International Film Festival. Dalton
and Martinez are both traveling from Bogotá to Toronto
to attend the festival. The panel, which will touch on a range
of topics related to documentaries and documentary production,
is tentatively scheduled for April 28, from 2-3.30pm at the Hot

March 16, 2005. Enthusiastic audiences (our largest yet) turned

February 12, 2005. La Sierra has won the Grand Jury Prize for
best documentary at the 2005 Miami International Film Festival.

BY SOUTHWEST SELECTS LA SIERRA FOR 2005 FESTIVAL.
February 11, 2005. La Sierra has been selected for the 2005 edition
of the South By Southwest Film Conference and Festival, which
runs in Austin, Texas, from March 11 through 19, 2005. SXSW is
one of the country's most dynamic and exciting festivals, screening

SIERRA SCREENS AT MIAMI INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL.
February 7, 2005. La Sierra played to a packed house of over 150
people in its first screening at the Miami International Film
Festival. The screening was followed by a panel discussion that
included other filmmakers working with themes of youth and violence.

LA SIERRA WINS BEST DOCUMENTARY AT IFP MARKET.
September 25, 2004. We are delighted to announce that La Sierra
has won the Best Documentary Feature award at the 2004 IFP Market
in New York. The award, which comes with a US$10,000 prize, was
awarded to the film’s directors. Many thanks to IFP for
the award, and for putting on a spectacular event.
LA SIERRA TO SCREEN AT 2004 IFP MARKET IN NEW YORK.
August 15, 2004. IFP/New York has selected La Sierra from a competitive
field to be one of an exclusive slate of feature documentaries
screening at the 2004 IFP Market, at the end of September. The
Market, a private event for filmmakers and industry representatives,
is an opportunity to make new contacts and friends, and begin
the long process of finding a public for the film.
MAJOR EDITING COMPLETED ON LA SIERRA.
July 15, 2004. Major editing on La Sierra has now been completed!
This wraps up months of arduous work for Editor and Consulting
Producer Andrew Blackwell, who, along with filmmakers Scott Dalton
and Margarita Martinez, has been editing the project since late
last year. The final product is 95 minutes long, and is based
on over 100 hours of footage shot in the neighborhood of La Sierra
last year.
